Heroes display many traits and an important one is courage because it is important to never give up and always have hope in in the surrounding people and society. Odysseus very much showed courage through his numerous acts of bravery and leadership. One example is when Odysseus kills the suitors staying in Odysseus and Penelope's house. “But Odysseus aimed and shot Antinous square in the throat--/ and the point went stabbing clean through the soft neck and out” (XXII, 15-16). Odysseus kills the suitors and shows a very courageous side that the reader has not seen before. Angelina Jolie is also a hero because she displays the characteristics a hero should show. Odysseus and Jolie both share courage as a characteristic because they both believe in other people and never give up when given a challenge. The reader can clearly see that Odysseus's challenge is how to find a way to get home. Jolie's challenge is having a mentally unstable daughter which Jolie has to make sure stays out of the press. Jolie has many other personal challenges and problems like Odysseus and they both show they can get through the obstacles and have courage throughout their journeys as being a war hero and a celebrity mom.
