Persona diibaratkan sebagai 'wajah' yang ditampilkan pada dunia, atau pengertian lebih kompleksnya, diibaratkan spt 'topeng' yg dibuat seseorang u/ memberikan kesan tertentu pd sekitarnya. Tapi disini (DSP), Persona adalah shift dari shadow, yaitu bentukan yang muncul dari ego yang kita supresi/sembunyikan, Persona akan kita dptkan jika kita telah berhasil mengakui Shadow dari diri kita itu, maka Shadow itu akan berubah menjadi Persona kita.

Persona pun ada kaitannya dengan yang kita sebut 'Arcana'. Ada 22 arcana yang masing2 mewakili berbagai arti dan sifat, karena Persona erat kaitannya dengan sifat kita sendiri, maka ada baiknya kita memilih Arcana yang sesuai dengan sifat kita.
Persona-Users, seperti namanya, adalah orang yang menggunakan Persona sebagai kekuatannya. Mereka adalah orang yang mempunyai Persona dan menggunakan Persona ini untuk bertarung melawan monster yang kita sebut Shadows. Utk mendapatkan Persona, kita harus melewati tahap 'Awakening', yaitu tahap pembangkitan Persona kita itu.
