Nei paesi asiatici di nuova industrializzazione (Singapore, Hong Kong, Corea del Sud,

peraltro da enormi disparità tra strati sociali, ha consentito la realizzazione
di grandi progetti, caratterizzati da architetture ultramoderne e da infrastrutture
tecnologicamente avanzatissime, sia per le telecomunicazioni (teleporti) sia nei
trasporti (metropolitane, regolazione automatizzata del traffico automobilistico,
come il road pricing a Singapore, tunnel sottomarini, come a Hong Kong).
