Duplicating the Olive Garden Walls
We just purchased another home and our objective was to duplicate the wall looks which can be found at the favorite Italian restaurant Olive Garden. We had searched the net and checked without having local builder's supplies all to no avail in order to locate pre-made wall panels comparable to those who work in the restaurant. Finally, we decided arrived to make the walls ourselves.
After considerable research we discovered that we could duplicate the look by using a way of faux painting. We now feel that we've got found the secrets to mimicking these beautiful walls although the procedure is relatively simple. The steps we use are highlighted below:

Prime the wall or surface with a decent quality primer
Trowel around the joint compound to have the required texture
Prime the wall again to protect the texture you've just created
Paint the wall twice with whatever base coat you've decided upon

Immediately wipe over glaze. The glaze will abide by all the various cracks and crevices.
When applying and taking out the glaze it certainly really helps to have some additional hands letting you since this glaze will usually dry very rapidly. Make sure to utilize a high quality glaze since the cheaper versions function not give the desired results that you could want.
I choose to "Aqua Cream" glaze. It is an excellent choice in duplicating the Olive Garden look. The glaze proceeds simply and will be rub out on the edges without problems while returning in the wall area leaving hardly any added lines. It is a very durable glaze that actually would require no additional top coats. You should remember when your basecoat isn't totally acrylic the glaze will soak in the walls in short order.
An interesting note in regards to the Oliver Garden walls is always that exactly the top third of the walls have been glazed. It starts with all the glaze being the darkest at the top and gradually fading to no glaze with the lower portions with the wall. With the walls being heavily textured celebrate the illusion of added depth resulting from the shadows. This is a deliberate attempt for making the wall's maintenance simpler, mainly because it becomes less difficult to touch up at the appropriate time.
It isn't hard to duplicate this effect which presents this attractive eye appeal at Olive Garden in the event you follow these simple instructions and use the best quality products available. That is the secrets to success.
