Podcast Marketing How Effectively Are You Implementing This Ultimate Marketing Strategy
Each day usually concludes with the same question. Our customers and prospects often ask us "How can I grow my business while capturing my fair share of market share?" Our answer is quite simply "Build yourself a foundation of prospects and build that pipeline continuously and effectively."
One big tip I'm willing to share with you as you take a look at my brief synopsis of now, discover how to become a successful PodCaster while watching your bottom line soar!

Over the past decade The Internet has led to the development of many innovative marketing channels. From e-zine publishing to distribution right through to more powerful techniques for optimizing search engines.

As a television and radio broadcaster/marketing consultant, I have had the sincere pleasure of understanding just how important both the radio and television marketing methods are to businesses and individuals in getting the word out to their prospective audience.

Our weekly radio show online, Net Talk Radio has been very well received by listeners and advertisers alike. I suppose I've always known that as time passed, increasing connections speeds and portable handheld devices would allow for an even wider audience reach.

The day has finally arrived!

Though we started using our online radio format a few years ago, we're now in a position to enhance the experience by letting our listeners quickly download our show (information or entertainment) straight into their iPod and iRiver devices. The listeners are now able to listen whenever and wherever "they" like. Plus, as an added-value benefit for us as well as our valuable advertisers, we track each hit (listener) at all times for the cost of one cup of coffee! We accomplish this with the help of one of today's most advanced audio/blogging technology, commonly known as "PodCasting".

Anyone is able to do this!

The first question is: What is podcasting?

Podcasting is a term that emerged as a brand new term to refer to the technology employed to transfer (share) audio content from web sites down to consumers (clients) of that content, who typically listen to it on the iPod (hence the word "pod") or any other .mp3 player (iRiver) in their control comfort and convenience.

PodCasting is similar to the concept of time-shifted software and devices like TiVo, which let you see exactly what you want to whenever you want to by simply recording and storing videos, but PodCasting is primarily used for audio that is up-to-date. (Universal video deployment is most likely in the near future.) In conclusion, I'll clarify, however, that this emerging and simple technology is able for pushing (deploy) any kind of files, such as photos (images) and software updates, videos and/or text.

PodCasting uses an XML-based technology known as RSS (Real Simple Syndication). The content publishers (PodCasters) describe new content in an XML RSS file which includes dates as well as descriptions, titles and hyperlinks to the .mp3 files. This "automatically" generated file is referred to as an RSS feed. Dave Winer is considered by many to be the inventor of RSS and a pioneer in the realm of applying XML. The key element that makes PodCasting use RSS involves "enclosures" (remember that phrase) An element that is that is supported through RSS 2.0.

If you are a user or consumer it is easy to run an "aggregator" (remember that word, too) program like Adam Curry's iPodder on MTV installed on your personal computer, which lets you easily subscribe to RSS feeds. Applications like Adam's operate according to a set schedule or random design, download the RSS filesand then check to see if fresh media is currently available. If there is new content and the audio files are automatically downloaded and put into an appropriate folder (of your preference) within your system's drive or directly transferred to your mp3 player.

I added an asterisk to the words noted above to make this extremely honest and often painful disclaimer. In my statement that "Anyone could do this" it is better to accurately state, "Anyone that properly learns (from an authentic professional) and implements their own PodCast process will take advantage of larger numbers by developing an and maintaining their personal growing community. For a business owner who is online, this is a huge benefit and must be done! This solution for marketing will not only ensure your financial stability however, it can make you the "STAR"!

Installing The PodCast Magic into Your Arsenal

Here now is a list of what you need to do to prepare to present your very first PodCast presentation.

1. Research The PodCast Element

Learn precisely what PodCasting is all about and how it works. I recommend visiting http://www.google.com and typing, "PodCast Radio" into the search field.

2. Physically Search For Only The Real Professionals

You should make a list of PodCasters who are certain of what they're doing. You should only be aligned with the most reliable. From podcasts , call them on the phone and listen to their brain(s). If you are unable find an actual point of contact, I strongly recommend that you remove them from your list. You want to be doing business with businesses that believe in "touching" their clients with greater intimacy and personalization rather than just an email. Remember, you are seeking a partner. A mentor. Not necessarily someone who is willing to make money and then be off. A solid alliance (friendship) is the goal here.

3. Discover Your Passion

What is your love for sharing with other people? What value can your customers gain from your work? Who is your target audience? Understand what is your "WHY"!

4. Develop Your Plan & Work Your Process

What are you required to learn? What do you need to do? What time frame will you be ready? Who will give you the help you require in order to achieve your goal. What equipment is needed?

5. Make Your Podcast Happen!

When you embark on you "new-to-you" adventure, don't expect total perfection from day one. Be kind to yourself and accept that you'll grow. We all started from the beginning. You've probably heard my first radio air-check at my very first radio gig located in Bakersfield, California. I sounded exactly like an uncoordinated knucklehead. :-) A little practice and desire can make you near perfect, but make sure you are fair to yourself and allow yourself the time to improve.

You can listen to the other pro-PodCasters. Listen to your favorite local stations. Read books and articles like this one on a daily basis. (I do this every day!)

6. Finally... There are no excuses!

If you "really" want to crank up the intensity of your marketing efforts, PodCasting gives you the substantial advantage in terms of marketing.

Know this...

Others will talk about it, but never make their decision.

You, on the other hand, should make no excuses, and begin working on your very first PodCast now! (At the very least, be sure to move PodCasting toward the top of your "TO-DO" checklist!

Today is the day to end...

I've shown only the essentials you should know before you go piling into your PodCast venture full speed ahead. Be sure to identify and test all the angles of marketing prior to creating an ongoing revenue-generating PodCast production for all the people to hear and to pay attention!

Thank you for your support!
