When you are on GTA, press the middle (xbox) button (where it takes you to the dash) then press start, and go down to "quit gta". Once you have quit out of GTA, you are gonna wanna go on Rockstar social club and 'unlink' your 'XBOX LIVE' Once your XBL is unlinked, have a friend who is also in the same crew as you shoot you an invite to an invite only session. Once you are in the invite only session, you will have no crew tag next to your name. Once you are in the session you want to come back on Rockstar social club and RELINK your 'xbox live'. Now while you are in the game with your friend (the invite only one) he should have a half-black crew ring pop up around him, and when you press 'down' on the d-pad you are going to have a blank tag next to your name. Once you see your friend has the half black ring and you have the tag with nothing on it, play around for about 30 seconds or a minute so the game saves. Then you are gonna want to go to back to the dash, press start, go to settings, power and startup, then restart the xbox that way.
