Notes

To start off with, I am reliable individual with great communication skills and confidence. I have a lot of experience working in roles that are customer orientated. in 2018 I worked as a server/front of house team member at an Indian restaurant. During my time as a server, it was my responsibility to uphold the restaurant's high standards at all times when serving food and interacting with customers. I was very successful in this role, as I had built rapport with many customers who ended up being regular customers who we'd see week in and out, as they were always pleased with my level of customer service. I also have experience of working in more professional settings. For example, In 2019 I worked as a customer assistant at a local opticians, and it was then when I realised I had a passion for helping others and in turn, I was very good at delivering great customer service. If I were to work at Schuh, I understand that I would be helping people of all ages, such as kids. I am very good with kids, as the opticians I worked had a lot of families come in with their kids and through dealing with parents and their kids, I am very able in helping assist families and small kids. I believe this skill of mine would be very beneficial at Schuh, as I expect the role would involve working with kids and helping the little ones get the perfect sized shoes. I understand that working at Schuh would also mean that I would have to be a great team worker and communicator. I have a lot of experience of working in teams. For example, In 2019 I was very fortunate to take part in the Young Enterprise Project. Part of a team of 5 entrepreneurs, we were given 4 months to create a product to present and sell to our local community. Over several months of working with my team members, we were able to create a recipe book that contained delicious and healthy snacks for families to make together. I believe this experience had really allowed me to develop my communication and team working skills, as I learnt how to deal with difficult people with different opinions and views as me. I believe the skills I have learnt from this experience, would be very useful for role I am applying for, as I understand that a person working in the retail industry will encounter their fair share of difficult customers.
