Introducción: La automedicación es el consumo de medicamentos por iniciativa propia, lo que constituye un problema importante de salud pública debido a que entre los principales riesgos que este tipo de práctica puede ocasionar se encuentran intoxicaciones, problemas gastrointestinales, falta de efectividad, farmacodependencia, enmascaramiento de una enfermedad, daño hepático y renal, interacciones medicamentosas. Existen diferentes reportes y estudios al respecto de la prevalencia de automedicación en estudiantes de diferentes carreras universitarias, por lo que es de suma importancia y necesidad el seguir investigando el tema para aportar de esta manera, a la realidad de la situación al respecto de la Automedicación.
Objetivo principal: Identificar la relación entre los factores sociodemográficos, sociales y económicos asociados a la automedicación por Covid-19 en estudiantes de enfermería de quinto año.
Metodología: Estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo, con muestreo probabilístico aplicado a los estudiantes que cursaron el 9º y 10º semestre de la carrera de Enfermería en la Universidad Santo Tomás, sede Antofagasta, en el año 2021.

Introduction: Self-medication is the consumption of medications on one's own initiative, which constitutes an important public health problem because among the main risks that this type of practice can cause are intoxications, gastrointestinal problems, lack of effectiveness, drug dependence, masking of a disease, liver and kidney damage, drug-drug interactions. There are different reports and studies on the prevalence of self-medication in students of different university careers, so it is of utmost importance and necessity to continue investigating the subject to contribute in this way, to the reality of the situation regarding self-medication.
Main objective: To identify the relationship between sociodemographic, social and economic factors associated with self-medication by Covid-19 in fifth year nursing students.
Methodology: Quantitative, descriptive study, with probabilistic sampling applied to students who attended the 9th and 10th semester of the Nursing career at Universidad Santo Tomás, Antofagasta campus, in the year 2021.
