自2019年之後，小米平板再無新品，整整斷更瞭兩年，可以視為基本放棄。如果不是iPad Pro重新點燃瞭市場的熱情，可能小米平板5就真的就此耽擱瞭。問題來瞭，小米為什麼做不好平板？我們回顧一下小米平板系列歷代的定位，就明白問題所在瞭。
小米平板1代是最具有野心的一代，7.9英寸+2K屏+NVIDIA Tegra K1處理器，聲稱要打破iPad的壟斷，結果因為第三方應用不願意適配安卓平板系統，最終草草下場。
2代換成瞭英特爾的CPU，X86架構，想做成二合一平板，但是體驗並不好；3代開始放棄瞭夢想，換成瞭聯發科處理器；4代正式變成瞭咸魚，隻升級到瞭驍龍660，能看個電影就算完成瞭使命。
4代換瞭4個處理器，這意味著小米看不懂安卓平板的未來。這是一個安卓平板全面潰敗，追逐夢想，但最終沉淪的故事。所以我們才會說iPad Pro 2018的出現，拯救瞭整個平板電腦市場，也讓手機廠商看到瞭蠶食傳統電腦廠商的機會。
iPad Pro出現之後，傳統電腦廠商的反應大嗎？很大，比如聯想小新Pad Pro，性價比堪稱安卓平板領域的小米，看來大傢都緊張瞭。

3月22號，數碼閑聊站曝光瞭小米平板5最新的消息，帶來瞭3個大動作。第一，小米平板5定位旗艦，配置管夠，而且是11英寸版本的大號平板；第二，小米平板5應該是盯著蘋果新iPad發佈會的，有可能在3月29號一起發；第三，根據之前的曝光，小米平板5很可能支持手寫筆。
