Rococo Architecture – Some of its Characteristics
Rococo architecture is almost feminine and may have been the dominant interior architecture style during the French revolution. The style later expanded to other regions of Europe which included Spain as well as Great Britain. Rococo architecture is often considered an outgrowth of Baroque style by art historians. Baroque design was a break in France's culture, which was heavily influenced by Renaissance and formal styles.

The decorative arts were greatly inspired by both Baroque and Rococo design. The Chateau de Versailles, Diderais Parlour in France as well as the Chateau de Versailles and the Louvre in Paris are all examples of important baroque architecture. These structures are representative of the earlier period of French interior decoration. They are common place in many art galleries, where they can be either seen as significant baroque architectural examples, or as minor examples that contribute to the study of the style.

Rococo was a significant decorative style that was popular in the period of the late baroque. It combined elements from many styles. The most notable of these was the inclusion of silver and gold. Rococo architecture employs a mix of precious metals in construction materials and for the decorative elements of the buildings.

Many elements of the rococo style have survived into the modern age although much of the ornamentation is now obsolete due to new trends in building design. One of the characteristics of this style is the frequent use of large-rounded designs, large floral patterns, and other ornamental features. This is coupled with the heavy use of silver in the construction of buildings as well as the ornamental details of statues which frame the front of the building. Another characteristic of this style that is widely used today is the abundance of figures like the owl and dragon, typically associated with romantics. Rococo architecture suggests that the Romantics may have actually lived in the palace of the Emperor Napoleon.

Architectural Styles - Rococo architecture has been characterized by certain architectural styles which remain popular in the present. One of these is the arched arch. Arch architecture was popular during the golden age of the Rococo period and was used not just in palaces but also in churches, public buildings and universities too. Other architectural styles used during the time of the Rococo include the vaulted ceilings which are typical of the Ecole Bilingu, or French barn-style ceilings.

Rococo architecture has three distinct features that distinguish it from other styles of baroque architecture. The first is a form of precarity, or an over-the-top preoccupation with form and detail. In contrast to many other kinds of precarity, designers of the rococo are interested in making the structure as perfect as they can, even if they sacrifice the precision of details. They are particularly interested in detailing, or the smoothness of lines. This is evident by the use of delicate and intricate drawings and paintings on the stonework of the structures.

The other characteristic is a sense of playfulness that is characteristic of Rococo style buildings. Many buildings from that era are decorated with decorative accents. They usually appear as if they were created for aesthetic purposes and not to be functional components of any human structure. A lot of furniture pieces used in the age of the rococo period were elaborately decorated, often requiring a skilled craftsman to create them. A lot of the architectural pieces from that era were cheaper than their baroque counterparts. They look familiar and comfortable even though they were constructed hundreds of years ago. This is another characteristic of the rococo era.

Rococo architecture The last characteristic that we will be discussing is a certain air of romanticism, almost an attempt to showcase the splendor and beauty of the city with its architecture. Rococo architecture was not afraid to emphasize the splendor of the city by extravagant display of splendor. This is a characteristic of the baroque era but it was also employed in the Victorian period. You can look at modern office design and realize that a lot of what is done is simply meant to embellish the offices to create a "cosy" atmosphere.
