Romanesque Architecture
Romanesque architecture is an architectural style which is characterized by sharp angles, rounded corners and steeply roofs that are raked. In the twelfth century it evolved into the Gothic style, which is distinguished by arches that were sharp. Other Romanesque structures include stupas (temples), palaces, fortresses, granaries, stone buildings, barns, and town halls. While the majority of Romanesque buildings are small however, certain Romanesque buildings can be quite tall. Romanesque architecture is rooted in the Etruscan civilization.
