故事要從1997年說起，維姆·德爾瓦是比利時的一位藝術傢，而比利時是一個藝術氛圍十分濃厚的國傢，尤其是在美術方面。
被現實打壓的他，在和朋友在農場散步，無意間看見有小孩拿著畫筆，在豬的身上進行塗鴉，維姆覺得十分有趣。
回到傢後，他想到自己或許可以利用這種創作形式來賺錢，於是他買來瞭一頭豬為其紋身。
在有瞭第一次的嘗試之後，便一發不可收拾，他愛上瞭給豬紋身。
維姆需要長達兩個月的時間，才能完成一幅他的作品。
而這些被紋身後的豬會被他以高價賣掉，慢慢的他發現瞭商機。
開展覽、售賣豬皮，一開始隻是動物保護者協會的警告，指責他有虐待動物的行為，他並不在意。
就在維姆快走上人生巔峰時，他卻收到瞭一張法院的傳票，發出傳票的人，正是香奈兒，而告維姆的原因，是他涉嫌侵權。
維姆在給豬紋身時，所使用的圖案中有大量的商業logo， 還售賣過豬皮，所以面臨被香奈兒的巨額處罰。
面對高昂處罰，他完全沒有能力支付，但他很快就想到，將侵權的豬皮出售給香奈兒，於是，香奈兒限量款就這樣問世瞭。
2008年，香奈兒利用從維姆那裡收購的紋身豬皮，制作成瞭2個限量款手提包，這款還沒開售就被人以高價預定，以紋身豬皮作為噱頭，共賣出5.5萬英鎊（約50萬人民幣）。
時至今日，維姆·德爾瓦依舊是個備受爭議的“藝術傢”，很多人認為他隻能是一個商人，完全無法配得上藝術傢的身份。
