How to keep current with music from your own country even if it's been 10 years since you last left.

What are you doing? I am an Russki youth who came to America in search of a better future. In Russia I didn't have a lot of money and definitely not within the middle class. read this My family was not my, in the sense of. In Russia the young people didn't require money back when I was growing older, therefore we needed to find ways to earn some money. There are many schemes available, with the majority are similar to people who drinkers ask their friends to purchase their vodka bottles for the community. Similar to the above, we would seek out ways to make quick cash or even buy bread. We always had food cravings.

So, I came to America. There's nothing quite like New York, Brooklyn or Brighton Beach. This is a place that reminds me of the home of my childhood. It's loud, filthy, there's a lot of Russian spoken everywhere, rude people - it's just regular Russian city bliss. There are many Russian bars, restaurants, and book stores that I have spent a lot of money at.

I am a music lover, and I am a huge fan of books. As it turned out recently you can read Russian literature on Kindle. Therefore, I have stopped buying hard-copy books. My wife, who's almost an avid collector isn't able to fit much in her home, and I try to stay clear of buying unnecessary stuff. Although stacks and stacks of books seemed smart at the beginning, once they became old they began to look dull and boring. After that I moved them into my garage.

Music, however, is something else. Since my work requires driving frequently and I am a huge fan of music. As a Russian immigrants, it's tough for me to like the music I find in America. I do not like rap and hip hop. And all the new age stuff that kids love to dance to. Old Russian music is a thing I cherish along with the Russian-specific songs that were played in jail. They are still popular in Russia, even after 20 years. They don't get on CDs. They are mostly tapes that are found in cars, as well as videos on Youtube. Youtube is a must these days. And so I spend hours watching music on YouTube when I am back home on day off or after work.


After a while I was able to build a long playlist of over 300 songs , which I thoroughly enjoy. It's my go-to friend. I listen to it throughout the day and don't have any problems getting used. There are 300 songs! But when I need to play the songs in my car, I don't have Internet to spare, I require it to drive, for navigation. I do all of my preparations at home. I'm in the middle of. I upload a handful of songs to Youtube as mp3 files. Then I burn the MP3s to a CD with my computer. After that I drive the CD to my car and listen. The site lets you take your Youtube playlist and print the songs. Each song can be saved to your computer in an MP3 file. After that you are able to transfer the music to an audio-CD. Sometimes, I make an error and just make dataCD. It's simple to transfer it onto audio CD. Audio is recorded is amazing. There is no need for internet to play MP3 music. I just insert CDs into my stereo slot. Once I am in Manhattan the music from Russia can be heard loud and clear.

It is easy and inexpensive to download videos from Youtube and convert them to mp3 so you can save them to your phone. One of my friends connected his phone to his car stereo. The music was playing with excellent audio quality in less than two seconds. Also, he was able to stream Pandora radio as well as Spotify, so it's not that fast of Internet for this. It sounds like something I would consider trying. But, I'll make sure that I don't use the free wifi.
