Rococo Architecture: A Look
Rococo architecture (also called rocaille or late-baroque) is a complex, extravagant, ornate layering, and ornamental style of architecture that developed in the late-baroque or early Rococo periods of the early French or European periods. It combines elements from various art periods and styles and is characterized by huge, almost continuous gardens and courtyards that are elaborate. The buildings are typically large in scale, however smaller structures like Chateau de Versailles, which is only a couple of rooms, are also noteworthy. Because of its similarities to French chateaus and palaces Rococo architecture is often referred to as French Chateau.

Architectural Rococo architecture is distinguished by unusually large quantities of intricate details both in the building's external and internal settings. Most buildings were designed as large courtyards, with huge central fountains, or as massive garden villas. The large murals and statues were used to decorate large outdoor courtyards. The majority of the statues were stylized representations of Roman and Greek gods and goddesses. The interiors of buildings are generally light in hue and are adorned with soft or muted floral prints. They also use earth colors like beige and gray, as well as ivory and browns.

Rococo and late baroque architectures were brightly colored and served delicious food. There were many options for cuisine and a variety of drinks, from coffee to chocolate to fruit juices and wine. Stereo and radio systems played soft music. Rooms had large mirrors , so that people could view themselves from any angle. For bedrooms, there were beds above, with intricately carved headboards as well as footboards, while wall paintings showed scenes of seas, flowers, exotic animals, and other subjects.

They were usually equipped with small grills that could be used to cook meat and fish. There were islands and counters to sit down and eat or work on projects. Large tables allowed for gatherings as well as large dining areas for dining. Each table would have a bench to the side, and the walls on the opposite side of the room would be painted rich red and black stripes or pastels with rosy hues. Sometimes, geometric patterns and carvings could be utilized. Fireplace mantels were usually made up of slanting and flat wood pieces, and curly wood columns.

The other furniture from the late rococo period had ornate legs and feet and a decorative metal lever, also known as a the rococo lever as its pedestal. The furniture could include shelves and chests, drawers, boxes, and boxes. Sometimes, benches were added with small wooden legs and elaborate tops. Wall grills and wall fan are a form of ironwork for decorative purposes that is found in many homes. These decorative moldings were used to decorate the ceiling and walls. These decorative accents were originally used by the wealthy to decorate their homes, but later were employed by the less wealthy to add charm and personality to their homes.

Rococo architecture is founded in the late baroque, neo-classical and Neoclassical periods. Artists seeking inspiration would turn to Spain and Italy for their inspiration. His artistic influences included Spanish Gothic architecture. The style was at its height during the reign of Napoleon III, when it was most popular. In fact the style is often called the "Rococo Style" because numerous buildings in cities around the world are influenced by it. Palacio Real, also known as the Royal Palace of Madrid and situated in the Gothic Quarter of the city, is an outstanding example of this style's influence.

The use of intricate patterns and colors, in conjunction with geometric designs, gave the rococo a unique look. This style was most commonly used to decorate churches, palaces and other structures, including mansions. The churches and palaces that use the rococo style are known as masterpieces of art. Rococo architecture has significantly influence on the architecture of cities across the globe and resulted in buildings such as the Uffizi Museum in Florence, Italy, and the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy. Other buildings that exhibit an abundance of Rococo-inspired decoration in their architecture are the US House of Congress, the US Grand Canyon, the Science Museum in London, and the Uffizi Museum in Florence.

Many people still use the style of furniture that has been fashionable for centuries. People living in areas where rococo style furniture is very popular also use furniture that resembles furniture made in Italy. People living in Rome or Florence can see examples of classic furniture imported from Italy by Romans.
