Since you can't rely on the internet at the top of the mountain, I make sure my kids are ready to travel with us.

That's exactly what I told you.. My children believe that the WiFi located at the highest point of the mountain is a source of weak signals. It's just a tiny hill. However, it's above the normal network range. So my kids have to look for better internet spots while my wife and I have set up a small camping area. We're hoping to stay for a couple of days, there's a small brook nearby, fresh water even that we own. Yes.. My wife is unable to camp without sufficient water. We carry our own water most often.

And so my children are updating their social profiles, while I'm admiring the view.. The hill isn't too huge. It's surrounded by a multitude of. We go to this hill every once in a while to be closer to mother earth. These trips are a true pleasure even though I'm the one who initiates them. My wife is the only one who insists on taking them maybe because she understands how much I enjoy being out in the wilderness. My kids are a completely different story. Internet is frequently not available. The interruption of streaming music may be because of something happening in the cloud, or even magnetic movement. It is a problem for me since I often end up hearing it all.

And so after several trips during which there was no WiFi , and normal internet on our phones would go between being in and out of service, we decided to prepare. We, i.e. my wife and me, prepared for the event that our children won't be able to access the internet for more than 10 minutes. We came up with two entertainment options that can be utilized even when the Internet isn't readily available during camping trips. One was a tablet packed with music videos and the current chart-topping songs. Our favorite Youtube mp3 converter helped us remove songs from video clips then convert them to an MP3 files and then download them to the tablet. It also worked with playlists, making it very quick, even though it sounds extremely long. If someone were down or feeling bored you can listen to music, view videos, and lucky for us all, listen to music with blue tooth connected headphones. This is pretty cool, don't you think? This item doesn't make any noise.

Second tablet contained mostly shows and cartoons that we downloaded from Hulu and Netflix apps that offer offline storage for later watching. It's not the greatest quality, but it is the way it is. There are several seasons of Breaking Bad, as well as numerous cartoons like Family Guy or Disenchantment. Very entertaining, it was very simple too.. Simply install the apps, enable downloads for offline viewing and download episodes, then mark them for download and forget, app will do all by itself. Tablet 2 was a few trips away from tablet 1 however my children loved it so much they began playing with it and watching shows. A few DIY videos were made by me, including the setting up a tent and skinning fresh-caught fish. Things that you wouldn't normally do in cities. These videos were downloaded from Youtube then converted to MP4 and saved to my tablet. It's much more convenient to have video on the tablet when you're working and you don't want to wait for video to stream right when you're there.. Download the video to your tablet before time, and then do not waste time on this.


These two tips keep my children entertained for the past 4 family camping trips. They are even happy to be out and about, because they know that tablet 2 will make their boring downtime more enjoyable and they can bring it home whenever they'd like. It's everything I've ever wanted - being with my family and friends.
