This has been my question since the moment I gave my baby girl the tablet, as well as all the Youtube channels specifically designed for babies. These channels are specifically designed to help children learn to improve their cognitive abilities, and help them become more social and mentally stable. However, I can definitely observe my daughter enjoying the show, she keeps watching it, eyes sparkling, laughter waiting to fly off her lips. I enjoy watching her being entertained. However, I do not know what the commercials. My child does not consume products so why would you insist to show my baby ads on Youtube at times but not babies?
The first thing to note is that babies aren't able to comprehend commercials. It is both a wasteful of money as well as the waste of resources. Babies aren't smart, they don't understand! If they don't understand what you are saying, why play those ads for their little babies? Do you think that if the father, mother, or other baby care providers are watching, then the ads could help those watching? It is getting annoying.
Similar to cat videos.. Recently, I noticed that my cat likes these cat videos that are captivating. It's usually birds or mice but my cat loves watching them for hours. It's like hunting I guess. These videos are always interrupted by advertisements. Who is it they are trying to convince? My cat isn't a fan of anything else than these videos. Advertisements are not relevant to her. Perhaps they think I'm watching the videos together with my cat. They are partly right. I am guilty of watching stupid videos for cats more often than I do something useful.
So I came across a fantastic solution I've been using lately. It involves downloading Youtube videos onto my computer, or to my daughter's tablet and then playing them from there. Are you aware of what I'm talking about? I came across this site that allows me keep video on my computer instead of having to open it through Youtube every time my cat needs to view birds. This lets me double-click an mp4 file on my computer. It is played in VLC immediately and does not contain any commercials.
The same process applies to all baby video and channels. Every video my daughter likes to see, I just download them from Youtube to my PC and then copy them over to her table. Sometimes, it's only 1-2 songs. If the videos are big, I copy them to her tablet. It's actually much easier to access this site directly from my computer. Perhaps it is me, old school...
It was a fantastic way to reduce the use of mobile data. This is a great method of saving mobile data.
I truly hope that you have enjoyed my suggestions and tricks to create an efficient household that is data-rich. This may sound silly, but I know.
