These are excellent, however, unless your skills in making edamame dishes are advanced, it could be better to purchase the dry variety in small containers.

Another great alternative is to use edamame flakes or even one cup of shelled soy including the edamame pods. Shelled soy, like that used to make sushi is much cheaper than the real thing. Shelled soy, including edamame, has the advantage of retaining more of its original flavor than other kinds. There is less salt, which makes for a more enjoyable mocha or soup. You can soak the edamame pods and use them as snacks instead of using salty cookies or crackers.

Shelled edamame has more protein-rich than regular edamame.
