Vanishing Spell (Evanesco) merupakan salah satu mantra transfigurasi yang memiliki efek menghilangkan yang bekerja pada benda mati dan makhluk hidup.
Vanishing Spell menjadi mantra yang rumit diajarkan, terlebih saat menerapkan mantra pada hewan seperti siput yang lebih sederhan atau tikus yang lebih sulit karena hewan tersebut adalah mamalia. Hermione Granger berhasil merapalkan mantra pada seekor kucing di pertengahan tahun.
Pada objek tertentu, Vanishing Spell dapat ditahan dengan beberapa mantra. Seperti yang digunakan Fred dan George Weasley memantrai kembang api yang berada di Weasley's Wizard Wheezes mereka sehingga jika ada yang merapalkan mantra Vanishing Spell, kembang api itu malah bertambah banyak bukan hilang.
Tahun ajaran 1987-1988, mantra ini diajarkan pada tahun keempat di kelas Transfigurasi. Pada tahun 1991, mantra ini pernah tidak sengaja dirapalkan Harry Potter untuk menghilangkan kaca di kebun binatang.
"Evanesco" diambil dari bahasa Latin yang berarti "menghilang".
