SariAgri - Nilai tukar rupiah yang ditransaksikan antarbank di Jakarta pada Senin (19/7) pagi melemah 19 poin atau 0,13 persen ke posisi Rp14.517 per dolar Amerika Serikat (AS) dibandingkan posisi pada penutupan perdagangan sebelumnya Rp14.498 per dolar AS.
Sejumlah analis memperkirakan kurs rupiah berpotensi mengawali perdagangan dengan pelemahan. Sentimen peningkatan kasus Covid-19 akan membebani pergerakan rupiah.
Pelaku pasar menyakini, kekhawatiran akan kasus Covid-19 secara global kembali meningkat. Dampaknya, investor berpotensi meninggalkan mata uang berisiko dan beralih ke safe haven likuid, seperti dolar Amerika Serikat.
"Posisi investor tengah risk-off seiring lonjakan kasus Covid-19 secara global, sehingga dolar AS menjadi pilihan utama," kata Kepala ekonom Bank Central Asia, David Sumual.
David memproyeksikan rupiah bergerak antara Rp14.460-Rp14.500 per dolar AS.

Analis Monex Investindo Futures Faisyal juga menyebut soal kasus Covid-19 di Indonesia yang belakangan terus rekor. Berita Terkini "Sehingga menambah potensi pelemahan rupiah,” kata dia.
Menurut Faisyal, pasar juga akan menantikan keputusan kelanjutan PPKM darurat.
Faisyal memperkirakan hari ini rupiah melemah dan diperdagangkan di rentang Rp14.440-Rp14.540 per dolar AS.
