The third book focused on how the revolution became successful. Now, the third installment is about the civil war that started when the Capitol made a move to join the remaining districts of districts that refused to submit to their demands. At first glance , the idea of the Capitol falling into ruin appears like the ultimate catastrophe however , as the series progresses the perspective shifts. While her initial hesitation seems to have overcome her, the real nature of the rebel movement allows her to to lead the army. The truth of the rebellion is evident when Katniss leads her fellow tributes in an audacious and successful attack on the Capitol. While the winners of this battle are the Capitol's bitter enemies The true meaning of the banner of the rebels allows the series to move forward.

One of the most important events in the series occurs when Katniss is recruited to fight the president while she flees the city in a coup d'etat. It is after this that the sequel, Catching Fire, focuses on the aftermath of the Civil War. This chapter focuses on the motivations of the president's escape, the loyalty of the winners and the way in which the film adaptation failed in capturing the full extent of Civil War.

It is probably possible that she would have , and that the ending of the third book would have been a lot different.

The Hunger Games series has received an abundance of praise from critics but it still doesn't compare to the acclaim of the Harry Potter series.
