Are you planning a long holiday far from home and need to have digital resources? Make sure to pack digital materials in case WiFi goes down
Here's a short story of my trip to the Arctic by boat. It sounded amazing, National Geographic journey thru the ice, back, with polar bears, and many more creatures. It would be ice everywhere eyes could see and snow all around. Man-made machinery was designed to fight the elements and move through the frozen northern wilderness. It sounded incredible, like fighting a huge combat against the weather north and the pole.

It was suggested to bring all of the technology that I would be able to carry in my suitcase. I did pack my laptop and added an enormous display screen to extend the workspace. They assured me that the electricity was not an issue. I was not quite sure what was to come for me. I didn't realize that I'd lose my internet connection just two days into my 14-day trip and then disappear from Earth for the next ten days. I was completely devastated when it happened. No trip should, however difficult or remote, cause me to be cut off from the technological world. Not only am I not able to finish my business and I'm not prepared for it.

It doesn't matter if you are forced to disconnect. Internet is all over the world. If your Internet connection fails then you could always go to a nearby McDonald's to get the no-cost WiFi connection you're looking for. It is also possible to bring your laptop and lounge in Starbucks throughout the day. In the north, there's no café or restaurant that can assist you. You're a long distance away from the nearest electricity source. There's no free Internet around the corner.. There are two choices in these circumstances you can choose to connect via satellite or go offline.


I can't afford an expensive satellite phone. It is too costly particularly for Internet access. However, I'm going to build a huge audio and video library for the next time, before venturing into the unknown without Internet access. Last time I had only 2 songs. The songs were downloaded back at the time, so all I had to listen to was 3 jazz songs and a song I couldn't remember what it was called. That's all. Four songs for two weeks of Insanity. I'd have planned ahead had I knew that this would happen. I would have filled my laptop with television shows and movies, as well as a plethora of music videos and simply audio files that contained songs and podcasts. I could have spent hours listening to my favourite podcasts. It's simple to download them, then convert into mp3 then save to my PC. Then, I can lay in bed and listen to the podcasts that I enjoy at home. It was my"golden hour. Two weeks full of gold. It ended up being 2 weeks of looking at ceilings, and running away from passengers to meet them every when they made a sound.

The trip was empty , literally and metaphorically. yt mp3 I've never been so bored. I was aware that the ice was too thick and the boat had no other choice than to turn around and go back to civilization. This was not a surprise, but it meant that hours and hours of unproductive time could have been used to listen to podcasts or watch videos for DIY home repairs, as well in listening to music. Next time I will convert Youtube videos into MP4 and mp3 on my laptop, take them along and listen to my favorite tunes from my laptop. There's no reason to feel down, music will always lift your spirits. Hulu as well as Netflix apps allow you to download movies and shows offline. You can also bring them along on your long arctic trek. But don't lose heart. Good luck!
