Online video storage is unpredictable. Sites could close or shut down. Here's how to back up your social media presence to your personal laptop.

My story isn't a big one... My story is not an extensive one. I was born, attended school, worked, and finally made it online. However, it also has some traumatic moments when I thought everything was lost for ever. One of those moments was when my personal computer at home was unable to function... After a bit of fiddling, changing my old desktop into the new one and more tinkering, I was eventually able to restore the entire work stored on the drive. It took three days of sweat and tears. But, I've learned one important point: Dropbox and personal file servers can be used to automatically or manually back up my day's work.

It's not the ideal solution. The bigger your online data storage, the more you have to spend to protect it. It's simple to use and appears extremely secure. It's possible to download it anywhere the internet allows. What happens if WiFi or another internet connection isn't available? I have my laptop on hand in these situations. It serves as my last refuge from the worst. They are connected in a RAID stack in order to copy each other and make sure that a backup is left in case one of the HDDs is damaged. I only copy stuff there so the laptop doesn't fail.

My other great day of sorrow came few years ago. As I said above I ensure not to lose my work. I now copy it multiple times and have it accessible wherever internet access is accessible. This was Periscope. It was something that I used quite often a several years ago. And even last summer, when there were disturbances and violence, I was able to stream a few live streams. In the present, Periscope TV is closing down and all videos will go away in the next few weeks. What should I do? I need to download all the videos to save them on my laptop. yt shorts download These are important to me. This was the last time we had a night out with my friend.

It is a site that I regularly frequent. It lets me download my videos for Youtube, Instagram, and Facebook - the other sites which host the majority of live streaming. I am passionate about politics as well as underground movements. Therefore, I film lots of live events to save them, then upload some of them on my YouTube channel, then backup it on my laptop whenever it is over. This is how I do it. This also lets me cross post videos on various platforms. This means that I can not only share Youtube video via Facebook but also upload the same video to Facebook. This is a different video. In the end, I have over 3TB of live streams that I've made in the last 8 years. And I'm not losing my Periscope lives.. And this site helps me a lot.

It works like a charm. When I open the video I'd like to watch I copy the URL using the sharing link. When I'm done I go to the video downloader site. After copying the URL, I click the button that's big. Within seconds, I see several ways to download the video to my computer or desktop. For sharing it across different platforms, and to preserve it for my family and friends. Periscope cannot be supported by every site. But this one can.

You can make windows copy to join these pieces, and then create a normal 1-long video file. The format used for video fragments is MpegTS, which is also known as transport stream. It includes all the information needed for video decoding in each of the fragments, making them independent from the stream, to allow each newcomer begin streaming seamlessly. The program also stores data on the browser, as it downloads 360x10 seconds files instead of the 1hr files. This means that when you only watch 25 seconds of the stream it will only download 4-6 pieces. (It receives 3-4 fragments from the current 25 second stretch plus one or two additional fragments if you keep watching the stream). This drastically reduces the amount of data needed to watch the stream for the full 25 seconds.
