Online video storage is not reliable. Sites can close or even fail. Here are some methods to back up your social media accounts to your personal laptop.

It's a site I utilize to download video clips from Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, and other places. I'm interested in politics as well as underground movements, so I record a lot of live events and save them for later use. In minutes, I can see a range of options to save the video on my desktop or laptop. to share it on various platforms, and to save it for family and friends. Periscope is not accessible on all sites.

By the way, if you were unaware, you can actually make windows copy commands that allow you to join these fragments to create a normal one-long video file. This is due to MpegTS, the video format that is used to divide the video into fragments. Also known as transport stream. It contains all the data needed for decoding video within each fragment. Each stream is initiated from the middle without interruption. However, it helps browser save on data transfer because instead of one hour of data, it downloads 360 x 10 second files, and only downloads those that you are watching. So, even if you watch only 25 seconds of the stream the player downloads just 4-6 fragments (it downloads 3-4 fragments of the 25 second stretch currently in play, plus 1-2 following fragments in the event that you continue viewing the stream). This helps greatly reduce total download needed to watch only 25 seconds from the middle of the stream. There is not having to download all 1hr of video in the first 25 seconds..
