Use synergy when thinking. You should know your personal goals. Also know clearly what your business goals are. There should be funeral brochures and maybe even overlap between them. It's nice to work on them in tandem. If you aren't able to, it will show.
A great quality for leading effectively is integrity. The two best ways to pragmatically practice integrity are to always speak the truth and do what is right, especially when you think no one's watching you. Others have a difficult time trusting you if you don't have integrity. Leading with integrity helps your team trust you, stay loyal to you, and respect you.
Stand by your word. If you are a leader, you need to stay true to your word. If it is now impossible to keep a promise, explain why. Most people don't respect an inability to keep promises, and this will undermine your authority unless they are on board with why you didn't keep a promise.
Though it is challenging, leading others carries high rewards. You get to help other people and truly make a difference in their life. Many people need that boost that a leader provides, and you too can become a good leader. Understanding the importance of a leader is important to being successful at the job.
