You should bring tablets, laptops and, occasionally, smartphones with video content to camp with your kids.

This is something I've have learned the hard and painful way. My mom's talk is fine for me, but listening to her lectures can be uncomfortable. I tried to finish the job faster than I should. It was a major error, as I've found out next day... or two..


We set out with our vehicle to drive it all to the campsite. I wanted to recreate the same rustic camping experience as my father did was, so I picked a remote place that turned out be located in a huge no-service zone. This meant that our smartphones were out of service, and we were pretty much left to ourselves, with no other camper to be seen. You can blame me I was hoping for a great time off working, three days out in the wilderness in the wilderness, enjoying nature.. Then we were back in our car on our way home 24hrs into the camping excursion..

What happened? What happened? I had brought my laptop, along with a couple of games online. However, it was difficult to take it out of the bags. I had made an environment to let them see the projector I had brought with my laptop. I was unable to access Hulu or Netflix and it was impossible to endure their presence. They wanted to check their email, check their texts and school issues, etc. I couldn't take the idea any longer, and we packed for the way back. My children were sounding identical to pigs eating delicious food items when we left the area without wifi. Really... Don't think I'm being naive, I love my kids.. It was embarrassing. They groaned and moan as their phones began to sound and announce the arrival of messages via text.

Since then, I've learned to be more prepared and attempt not to get an internet-less zone, with only a few roaming available. When we took an extremely long boat ride to our destination, I found myself in need of my two best friends with two tablets and a laptop. They were equipped with Hulu online video downloads at one end, Netflix movies, and shows on the other. The laptop also has music videos, as well with some films that I have downloaded to watch later using Hulu as well as Netflix apps from the Windows app store. I have over 600 hours of content, including complete episodes of South Park, Friends, Will & Grace seasons, as well as additional episodes.

There are many videos that children will love. I downloaded music videos from Youtube and converted them to mp3 or mp4 formats to listen and watch. Through this web-based application, I was able to download videos to my laptop. It allows me to view them offline without electricity (if necessary). I DVR a lot shows, movies, as well as online lectures, etc. Therefore, I save them in the format mp4 on my laptop. Later, I can play them with VLC/KMP , or other programs that support video files.

4k is another feature I insist on. What do you think? Video is so clear it's incredible. I would highly recommend. Televisions that have 4K picture support come with an amazing software that enhances and process the image. Older videos look so much better on the TV. Even though it isn't very good, it transforms into a smooth, contemporary video flow. Highly recommended for all boys and girls.
