How to Clean A Nonstick Griddle Pans
How to clean a nonstick griddle is an important topic in home cooking. Not only are they easy to clean (after cooking on them a few times), but they can also save you money in the long run. Griddles are made from either of two materials: aluminum or stainless steel. They are the standard cooking utensils we see in American homes. When you cook on one of these you need to make sure that the surface is always completely dry before cooking. While it's true that they don't burn very well, that doesn't mean that they should be left to simply collect grease and grime.

So how do you properly clean your griddle pan? It's really quite simple. First of all, you will need a non-abrasive cleaner, such as dish soap. You can either use a bottle or sponge, just be sure that you find a neutral pH cleaner. This type of cleaner will work for both metal and wooden griddle pans.

When you are ready to begin cleaning, it's best to let the pan dry thoroughly between uses. You should also make sure that the items you are about to clean are totally clean. After you have cleaned your pan, it's time to start preparing the rest of your meal. Since this is a large surface, it is recommended that you preheat the oven or grill before beginning.

Once you have completed this step, you can begin cleaning the other parts of the grill pan. In order to do this safely, it's wise to first rinse the nonstick grill pan with hot water. The hot water will remove any excess salt that might be present. You should then scrub off any salt residue using a soft toothbrush.

Once this process is complete, you should rinse the pan again with hot water. This time, add in kosher salt to the water and scrub in an even and gentle manner. Once you have scrubbed all of the salt, it's time to add in the olive oil. Do not use regular cooking oil. This type of oil is too dense and will clog your grill. Instead, use only grapeseed oil.

If you have finished all of these steps and your nonstick grill pan still looks a bit greasy, you may want to consider adding a light layer of olive oil or grape seed oil to the mixture. This will lighten the look of the griddle once again. In addition, if there is still unwanted grease on the bottom of your griddle, you may want to add a touch of lemon juice to help remove the food from your griddle. By following these simple steps, you can easily learn how to clean nonstick griddles with ease.
