‘진안고원마이산김치축제’(이하 김치축제)가 지난 15일 성황리에 마무리 됐다.

축제 기간뿐만 아니라 축제 기간 이후에도 온라인에서 많은 분들과 소통하고자 하는 김치축제의 의지를 담아 특별히 제작한 프로그램으로 많은 관심을 보였다.

진안군이 후원하고 부귀농협이 주최·주관한 이번 축제는 지난 12일부터 3일 동안 온·오프라인에서 동시 진행됐다.
온라인에서는 김치담그기 동영상 올리기, 완제품 김치 인터넷 주문 할인판매, 오프라인에서는 절임배추, 양념, 완제품 김치
등에 대한 ‘드라이브 스루’ 할인판매 행사가 열렸다.

연구진은 골마지를 예방하기 위해선 김치를 포장할 때 모든 부분을 국물에 잠기게 하거나 산소와 접촉면이 생기지 않도록 비닐로 감싸야 한다고 설명했다. 또 약 4도의 저온이 유지되도록 냉장고를 관리해야 한다고 덧붙였다. 김 책임연구원은 “혹시 모를 위험을 피하려면 골마지가 생긴 김치 는 그 부분을 걷어낸 다음, 볶거나 끓여먹는 방식으로 김치를 조리해 먹는 것이 안전하다고 덧붙였다.

농협은 올초부터 국산 김치 경쟁력과 김치 종주국의 위상을 강화하기 위해 지역농협 김치가공공장 통합을 검토해왔다. 현재 지역농협 12곳 중 10곳이 통합에 찬성하고 세부 통합방안을 논의 중이다. 지역농협 김치는 원재료 모두 국산 농산물만을 사용하는 장점이 있음에도 브랜드가 제각각이고 상품군이 겹쳐 인지도와 판매량 증대에 한계가 있다는 지적이 제기돼왔다.
