Bring a laptop, tablet, and sometimes even smartphones with video content to go camping with the kids.

This is something I have learned through trial and error. My mom has been in my life all week long to encourage me, reminding me to prepare for this, and to keep that in mind. I was only able to share with her my excitement over going on the first ever camping trip with my kids and her grandkids. But here she was in my kitchen huffing and puffing with advice and instructions on every scenario that could come up. I am not averse to my mom's talk. I don't listen to her talk makes me uncomfortable. It was an error. I found out that the hard way.

We set out in our car to drive the car all the way to the campsite. I was determined to recreate the rustic experience that my father had, so I chose one remote spot that turned out be in a massive no-service zone. Our phones were not functioning, so we were left with no other campers. I'm not judging you as I had hoped to enjoy a wonderful trip off working.. We spent three days outdoors in the nature setting, surrounded by nature.. In less than 24 hours, we were on our way back home.


What was the situation? We were in a solitary state, had no internet, had no bars , and no money. I had a laptop and handful of games online. It never made it out of my bag. I had a beautiful backdrop ready for the trees to see my projector, which I brought with me to make big-screen effects movies. There was no Internet access to Hulu, Netflix, or Disney+. They only wanted to check their email, check their texts and school issues, etc. We packed our bags and headed back as I could not bear the thought any more. When we came out of the zone without wifi my children made sounds almost identical to little piglets eating tasty food stuffs... Really, my children are just amazing. But, it was embarrassing. They moaned and squealed as their phones began to beep to signal incoming text messages.

Since since then, I've been able to prepare better and avoid being in an area without internet access and no roaming. After an extended boat ride towards our destination, I discovered myself with my new best buddies which included two tablets as well as a laptop. They were equipped with Hulu streaming video at one end, Netflix movies, and shows on the opposite. The laptop also has music videos, as as some movies that I downloaded to watch later on Hulu as well as Netflix apps through the Windows app store. I've got more than 600 hours of material to watch which includes the complete episodes of South Park, Friends, Will & Grace and Friends seasons.

There are many fun videos for kids. I downloaded some YouTube music videos and converted them into MP3 and MP4 formats. Some videos I downloaded with the help of this web application, it lets me get videos directly downloaded to my laptop. Then I can watch it easily any time offline without Internet, just give me an electrical outlet, in case it is required to recharge. I record a variety of shows, films as well as online seminars. I save these videos as mp4 on my laptop, and then play them later with VLC as well as KMP or any other video player that supports 4k.

4k is another thing I insist on. You have seen it? The video is so clear, it's astonishing. youtube mp4 I highly recommend. There is great software in new TVs that support 4k image. It processes the image and improves it, upscales it, and then upscales it. Older video appears better on the TV. Even though it's not very good, it transforms into a smooth, modern video. Highly recommended for all different ages!
