This is the story of Hár
Lander Brightwood, 26 years old, appears to be an elf to most people, but when they come to know of his family quickly realize his half-elven heritage. His mother whom he does not know the name of ever since he's been estranged with his father. How that happened is a long story. Lander's mother used to read to him stories (about adventurers) and parables (sometimes a little too complicated for a child) and he loved them. There was one particular story about a hero who saves damsel in distress from a white dragon that always stuck out to him. His mother always encouraged him to make friends and after a couple of fights and let downs he met a Luana. She had a striking similarity to his mother, which is maybe why he tried his hardest to appeal to her. One day, Luana, daring as she is, decided to play on the river, which was frozen over. They were having fun sliding across the ice, when a loud screech could be heard. Afraid they ran as hard as they could to the town, but Launa got her foot stuck on the ice and her left leg was now submerged in the freezing water. The wind was picking up making all sorts of howls and the screech could be heard once more now with a source high up in the sky was a big comet (which appeared alien to them). Lander wanted so badly to go back and help her, but his now warm legs were shaking. For the first time, he knew the reality a person must face in order to become a hero. He left running, leaving Luana behind. After that incident, they stopped playing with each other. The guilt still haunts him, but they are both questioning what they saw that day. One day, on a stroll through the towns he noticed something. A lot of people were hungry and upon question couldn't afford the now scarce food at this time (where the weather and climate were harsher than ever). He remember the drawer where his dad kept the money and figured that most of it would help them, not thinking about the consequences. At that very same day his little brother Oskar was born, which made it a little easier to steal now that everyone was occupied. Later though, the huge sum of missing money got noticed by his father and asking about it didn't take long to piece together what had happened. His father wanted to deal with him, but his mother stopped him. Telling him to not punish his son for something that in essence was righteous and kind. A lot of arguing and a crying were the sounds coming from the Brightwood family house that day. Sometime in the night, his mother woke him up. Telling him that if he wants to help others, that it must come from himself. She then kissed him goodnight and left. The next morning and the following days she was gone. Questioning his father quickly soured the mood and he got no answers or hints. Left to wonder and with so many thoughts and ideas in his mind, he decided it was his fault and packed his stuff and left the house. He wandered the Tundra and found the reason as to why his mother might have left without him. He was weak, frail and would now die in the snow. As his eyes closed, his body now numb due to the cold. He saw on the horizon a group of people and his mother. When he woke up he found himself in a camp, when he fully understood his circumstances he went looking for his mom. He didn't find her, but he was brought to the leader of the tribe of orcs he was now in. Zub the Noxious, who from the way she carried herself and the various scars on her face easily earned her place amongst the tribe. The following years he spend training and fighting alongside the tribe. Raiding all across the tundra on unfortunate travelers. One day, it appeared they had met their maker as they ambushed a group of travelers who seemed more formidable than they expected. The whole tribe except for Lander and Zub survived, who had to carry Lander away from killing himself. The bandit days now over Lander decided to part ways with Zub and visit his hometown (Termalaine). He didn't bother visiting his family home, instead going to the church. Now he is a devoted member of the church who worships Illmater and often helps the town with various task such as defending the town and helping with sermons at the church.
