You are planning a long and faraway trip? Make sure you have the necessary digital devices you require before the WiFi stops working.
This is a tale of my trip to the Arctic on a boat. It sounded fantastic, National Geographic trip thru the ice, and back, along with Polar bears and numerous other species. There would be ice everywhere, snow everywhere. Man-made machines were designed to combat the elements, and navigate through the frozen northern wilderness. It sounded amazing, like an epic fight against the weather north and pole.

It was suggested that I carry all the tech I could carry in my bag. I did bring my laptop, but I also brought the screen of a large size to make the space more spacious. I was informed that power wasn't a problem. I was unsure what was to happen. Two days into my 14-day trip I didn't know of the fact that my Internet connection would stop working and I would be gone for the remainder of 10 days. online video converter It happened. I was just stunned. Every trip should not, however difficult or remote, cause me to become disconnected from the world of technology. There was no doubt that there was an unfinished task I needed to address in the week that followed and I did not plan for the time off.


It doesn't matter if you need to leave the house. Internet is accessible all over the world. If your home internet connection fails, you can always go to a McDonald's near you and get the free WiFi connection you're looking for. You can even bring laptop and relax in the Starbucks for all eternity or sit down at a table and just surf the Internet to the fullest extent you wish. No cafe or restaurant can aid you from north. There are hours away from the closest generator which produces electricity. There isn't any internet service that is free anywhere. There are two options: either go offline or use satellite access.

I am unable to afford a satellite phone. It's too expensive, and especially not to use it for Internet access. However, I'll prepare an avid audio and video collection prior to venturing into the dark without Internet. The last time I had two songs, but they were both snarkily downloaded back in the day the only thing I was able to listen to was three jazzy songs and one famous track I didn't even know the name. This is it. Four songs over two weeks of absolute nothingness. If I had known that this would be the case I would have prepared. I would have loaded my laptop up with TV shows, films, music videos, and audio files that contained music and podcasts. I would have listened to my favorite podcasts for hours. It's easy to download them, convert to MP3 and save to my personal computer. I then can lay in my bedroom listening to the podcasts that I enjoy, but rarely have time to actually listen. This could be my golden hour or two weeks of gold. But it was actually two weeks of gazing at the ceiling and running out to meet passengers every time a sound comes from the corridors..

The trip was empty both literally and metaphorically.. Never have I ever been so bored. Ice was too thick, and I was aware that it was a possibility which is why the boat had to turn around and tug back towards the shore. It wasn't a shock, but it meant that endless hours of unproductive time could have been utilized to listen to podcasts or watch videos for DIY home repair, as well as simply listening to music. Next time I'll convert YouTube videos to mp4 and MP3 formats on my laptop. Don't be depressed music is always uplifting your spirits. Hulu as well as Netflix apps allow you to download offline movies and shows. You can also take them along for your long trip across the Arctic. Don't spend your time sat in a boring place. Have fun!
