Young DJs should invest in quality music. Practice with low bitrate MP3s is indecent.

I'm not a DJ. This is my mantra. In college and at school, I attempted DJing but it was impossible for me to accomplish anything other than re-create what someone else did. As a DJ I simply had no imagination and no ear either, to be honest. I'd always miss the beat, switch to 7th instead of 8th, and many other things that made my DJ career impossible. However, I'm a listener. I can tell when DJs are not following the beat. I can also see where they are making mistakes. But I can't entertain people non-stop for long periods of time.

But if you're trying to be a DJ, don't let my story discourage you. Or rather my story shouldn't be a hindrance to your plans. My attitude towards people is to follow what you want and to be who you are. Be yourself and do what you want to be. your best self. DJs, like all other individuals require constant support to grasp on to reality. It's good for them to see the world around them. Because Youtube music should not be converted to mp3 by new DJs, it is not just because it against their TOS but also because of the poor audio quality. However high the video resolution is (e.g. 4k 8k, 4k, etc.) the bitrate will still be limited to 128kbps in the M4A container. However, it is able to technically produce 160kbps MP3, or something similar. I hope that these numbers are not confusing. If you're a DJ, or computer sound enthusiast like me, you'll be aware that mp3 may contain as much as 325kbps of high-quality sound. It's good, but it's basically removed sound that can be compressed into mp3 through cutting off the highest and lowest frequencies of sound. The end result is therefore insufficient. The deepest house music available on the planet doesn't sound anything deep when played from 320kbps mp3.. When compared to playing it on a vynil - then deepness of sound actually knocks crystal glasses off of the table.


2conv Low-quality copies of songs aren't the ideal choice for a DJ who is just beginning. It's best to signup with the likes of Beatport, Fruity Loops or Juno Download to get access to whole collections of good, solid, excellent quality audio that can be remixed or mashups using lower quality mp3s you have to enhance the overall sound. This will give you a stunning, rich bass sound with a low quality file. This is the thing that the sound of mp3s can be a bit lacking the amazing bass.

However, this knowledge should not suffice to make a DJ who is new feel at ease. Do you believe that improving your sound is what makes an outstanding performer or artist? To ensure that you deliver the best live sets, most energetic moods for dancing, and the best times for your club's youngsters, it's always a good idea to invest in your equipment. Because they'll come back if you keep them dancing to the best beats. It's the law.
