Business Systems Analyst – Workforce Scheduling Systems

Responsibilities and Skills
• Complete daily production support activities
• Create ad hoc analyses to diagnose or to communicate an issue
• Work with end users to analyze, document and prioritize business needs
• Partner with other Nordstrom Information Technology teams to design, build, test and implement system and report enhancements
• Support change readiness activities by developing train-the-trainer materials, writing end-user communications and supporting the creation of education materials
• Prepare and execute user acceptance testing and data validation

Qualifications
• Has at least 1 year workforce management/analytics experience
• 3+ years as business analyst or equivalent experience
• Proven experience in the all phases of the system development life cycle
• Ability to understand and document clear and accurate detailed requirements
• Capable of asking questions and challenging the status quo
• Strong analytical skills and creative problem solving ability
• Self-starter with strong customer focus, follow-through and solution orientation
• Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot processes and systems, and to propose solutions
• Has a history of improving inefficient/ineffective processes and systems
• Displays curiosity about how and why business processes and system functionality work
• Approach problems with a strong sense of ownership, initiative, and tenacity
• Take challenges head on, learn from failures, and have fun while doing it
• Has intermediate Excel and Word skills
• Can successfully self-manage a long to-do list, complete items quickly and adapt to quickly changing priorities
