SariAgri - Bea Cukai Kabupaten Sidoarjo Jawa Timur dibantu TNI-Polri menggagalkan upaya penyelundupan 11 juta batang rokok ilegal beserta 5,6 ribu mililiter vape dengan cara dikemas dalam kardus bumbu pecel.
Rencananya rokok dan vape bermacam merek tersebut hendak diselundupkan melalui jasa pengiriman darat dengan tujuan Sumatra, namun sebelum berhasil dikirimkan berhasil digagalkan di tengah jalan oleh petugas.
“Pelaku ini rupanya sudah lama mempelajari celah modus pengiriman. Mulai dari kamuflase kemasan menggunakan kardus bumbu masakan pecel merk koki, kemudian dikirim saat tengah malam atau dini hari supaya petugas dikelabui. Namun petugas sudah mengintai dan berhasil mengungkapnya,” kata Kepala Kantor Bea Cukai Sidoarjo, Pantjoro Agoeng, Rabu (14/7).
Pantjoro menambahkan selain pengiriman ke Sumatra, rokok ilegal ini juga kerap dikirim ke Pulau Kalimantan. Mereka menggunakan ekspedisi malam dan dinihari, untuk menghindari pengawasan petugas.

“Pelaku usaha ilegal ini mencari celah memanfaatkan kondisi pandemi Covid-19. Satu orang pihak ekspedisi saat ini sudah diproses hukum P21 dan tinggal menunggu proses pengadilan,” imbuhnya.
Barang ilegal ini selanjutnya akan dimusnahkan di sebuah pabrik di kawasan Mojokerto Jawa Timur. Akibat upaya penyelundupan rokok dan vape ilegal senilai Rp10 miliar ini, potensi kerugian negara diperkirakan mencapai Rp4,9 miliar.
