Diabetes Research Proposal

Recently I read an article in which the following diabetes mellitus research proposal was discussed. It was a paper written by David Jenkins, a researcher at the University of Glasgow. This is a good proposal and focuses on some issues that are important and deserve further study. For example it is known that sleep apnea can lead to a higher risk of type 2 diabetes, but not much is known about the relationship between diabetes mellitus and diabetes. It also discusses the relationship between diabetes mellitus and other circulatory diseases.

One diabetes mellitus research proposal says that the best way to treat diabetes is to control the blood sugar levels. They then recommend doing this by keeping an eye on your weight and eating more fibrous food. That's a good idea and certainly something that could be tried in any diabetes patients program. However, the most important thing to consider is what is the relation between diabetes mellitus and diabetes. Is there a clear link between the two?

The connection between diabetes mellitus is not as obvious as it may seem at first glance. It appears that there are some disorders that can cause the body to make less insulin than normal. Those disorders are thyroid disorder, Cushing's syndrome and polycystic ovarie syndrome. Insulin resistance was found to be the cause of type II diabetes. Those who have insulin resistant conditions cannot use the insulin properly or do not respond to it at all.

In addition, there are several conditions that will cause your blood sugar level to rise above the normal range. These conditions are obesity, hyperinsulinemia or high blood pressure, atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) and heart failure. If you have diabetes mellitus, then there is a good chance that you will develop these diseases as well. However, some diabetes patients are able to control their diabetes by controlling their blood sugar levels. If you have uncontrolled diabetes, then you should contact your doctor immediately to discuss any changes in your condition.

There have been many studies performed on diabetes mellitus. These studies have been done by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), American Heart Association and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Prevention and Public Health Program. One of these studies reported that approximately one in seven people with diabetes develop it over their lifetime. This represents about fifteen percent of the total diabetes cases in the United States. These studies have provided proof that high blood sugar levels cause certain bodily conditions and contribute to the development of diabetes.

Currently, there is currently no evidence that diabetes mellitus has any relationship to longevity. However, researchers have theorized that diabetes might play a role in diseases such as heart failure, cataracts, blindness and even cancer. In addition, other studies have shown that diabetic patients are more likely to suffer strokes, kidney failures and eye infections. In a diabetes research proposal, these conditions are pointed out as the probable reasons why diabetic patients experience higher levels of blood sugar.

Another current diabetes research involves using livers from non-diabetic rats as a model for human diabetes. Results of this study showed that the rats treated with diabetes showed pathological changes not present in normal rats. This study also indicated that rats with diabetes mellitus had a shorter life span. This is considered as one of the causes why diabetes is becoming a growing concern among Americans.

For patients with diabetes mellitus, there are many ways to treat and improve the symptoms of this condition. The information contained in diabetes research proposals available today have made it possible for people affected with diabetes to lead a normal life even if they have the disease. The disease can be managed through proper diet and exercise, which is why more people are trying to figure out how to avoid it. However, diabetes mellitus research will continue to help in identifying the best ways to manage this medical condition.
