SariAgri - Di tengah gempuran COVID-19, kinerja ekspor industri makanan Mesir ke Amerika Serikat menunjukan peningkatan signifikan. Selama kuartal pertama tahun 2021, nilai ekspor makanan Mesir ke Amerika Serikat dilaporkan naik sebesar 23 persen, secara tahunan.
Melansir Egypt Today, menurut laporan bulanan yang dikeluarkan Dewan Ekspor untuk Industri Makanan, total volume ekspor sektor makanan ke Amerika Serikat sepanjang periode Januari hingga akhir Maret mencapai sekitar $48 juta. Angka ini meningkat dibanding periode yang sama tahun 2020 yaitu sebesar $39 juta.

Sekitar 80 persen dari total ekspor itu disumbang 10 komoditas utama, di mana biji-bijian dan minyak buah-buahan menempati posisi teratas atau menyumbang sebesar 17 persen dari total volume ekspor dengan nilai $8 juta.
Sementara komoditas sayuran beku menyumbang 11 persen dari total ekspor, senilai $5 juta. Komoditas teratas lainnya adalah sayuran dan olahan tebu dengan masing-masing sekitar 10 persen, dengan nilai masing-masing $5 juta.

Sedangkan ekspor "zaitun acar dan olahan" menyumbang sekitar 6 persen dengan nilai $3 juta dengan persentase dan nilai yang sama untuk ekspor "stroberi beku" dan "garam". Selain itu, ekspor "jus" menyumbang 5 persen dengan nilai $2 juta dan ekspor "bahan albumin" menyumbang sekitar 4 persen dengan nilai $2 juta.
Ekspor industri makanan Mesir ke Amerika Serikat pada triwulan pertama 2021 ini mewakili 5 persen dari ekspor industri makanan selama 2020 yang mencapai sekitar $181 juta atau turun sekitar 11 persen dari total ekspor tahun 2019 sebesar $202 juta.
