One of the most hilarious films of all-time, Man With a Van is a hilarious sequel to the financially disastrous Argyll as well as Costello's Christmas masterpiece, It's a Wonderful Life. It's a comedy with the same inscrutable American innocence that was the hallmark of the latter movie, Russell Brand plays the eponymous Van Man, a man who travels back in time to modern-day New York City, where the two meet an attractive young woman working in a theatre. Instead of saving her, he decides to run off with her to help him save his struggling company... But can they save their own marriage or could Van Man destroy his family and his livelihood along the way?
When your mind is flooded with images of Michael Caine, you probably picture the actor in his iconic sequences from A Few Good Men, where he portrays a bad guy who's about to be executed by authorities. In Man With a Van, but, Caine plays Robert "Bob" Wurzelbacher, a honest former moving truck driver who has the experience to manage people's possessions as well as the Van Man himself. As the movie progresses, we get to know more about this eccentric man, who ends up having a pretty good time doing so. He even ends up getting away with his cousin, after being told that the authorities want to check out his trucks. But when two movers from across the border decide to stop at his home, the situation turn from bad to worse.
Brand plays the role of the man who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty literally. After letting two moving companies take a swift retreat out of his home and he is offered his own truck to handle the rest of the work. The two movers are awed by his capacity to get the job done quickly and easily, even getting the two trucks he uses for the move to break some of the laws (one being related to the dimensions of the fronts vehicle). When they agree to assist him, Bob realizes that he has more happening throughout his day than he believed. Yet, despite that, he's still committed to helping others and making life easier for other people.
In the meantime, a troubled little girl called Beth has a difficult time adjusting to her new surroundings. Beth is constantly being criticized however, she's uncertain about her previous life and what she's going to become in this new city. She informs her family of her move from the city to Man With a Van, but they doubt her tales and soon she develops a deep fear of the place. The two movers from earlier help her out of a jam after they discover that Bob's involvement with the move. They both end up saving Beth and making Beth feel secure in her new city.
Over time, Bob develops feelings for the local girl. Beth begins to work with him and they end up falling in love. Then, the unthinkable happens the relationship gets put in limbo when Bob is laid off from his job at the newscorp.
moving van rental would highly recommend this book if you're someone who has had a similar experience like Bob. It's an excellent read due to the fact that it's so realistic and believable. It's not a heartwarming story like most books, but it's full of adventures and great lessons. It's not your typical moving experience, either. There aren't any cute sidekicks, as well as numerous twists.
I would recommend this book if you're someone who enjoys funny situations, and also enjoys the thrill of a thrilling story. If that sounds like you, then this book is definitely worth going through. My favorite part was when Bob and Beth decided to live in a van that belonged to one of their friends. The whole experience was hilarious and made me laugh several times. I'd also like to say that the storyline was catchy. I didn't encounter any major problems with the plot or the characters and I was captivated from beginning to end.
Overall, this was a great book. It's a realistic read and I think that people would recommend it. Anyone who loves to travel, like adventure, and want to know how others deal with life in a funny sort of way must definitely check out Man With a Van by Paul Therien. It's a short and enjoyable read that has a great plot.
