Ano nga ba ang Asya?
-Ang asya ay ang pinakamalaking kontinente sa mundo, Dahil sa sukat nitong humigit kumulang 44 milyong kilometro kwadro.
Ang Asya ang nagmula sa wikang Assyrian na Asu, ito ay nangangahulugang Silangan.
Sa pagtatakda ng lokasyon ng isang lugar sa globo, mahalagang mabatid muna ang ilang mga konseptong may kaugnayan dito.
Longitude- ang distansyang angular na natutukoy sa salingan at kanluran ng prime meridian.
Ito rin ay malalaking bilog o great circles na tumatahak mula sa North Pole patungong South Pole.
Prime Meridian- Na nasa Greenwich sa england ay itinatalaga bilang zero degree lonitude.
latitude- ay ang distansyang angular na natutukoy mula sa hilaga o timog ng equator or ekwador.
Equator- Ay humahati sa globo sa hilaga at timog na hemisphere or hemispiro. ito rin ay tinatakda bilang zero degree latitude.
tropic of cancer- ay isang linyang imaginary na tumutunton sa hilagang hangganan ng tropical zone.
Matatagpuan ito sa 23.5 degree timog ekwador o equator.
Tropic of Capricorn- Isang linyang imaginary na tumutunton sa timog na hangganan ng tropical zone .
Matatagpuan ito sa 23.5 degree timog ng equator.
