The Drug King - A mockumentary Korean Drama
"The Drug King" is full of intriguing ideas and topics, but frequently fails to put them into a format that entices viewers. Poor pacing and a lack of real-world storytelling are two of the problems with this film. Because of this, certain scenes can be very long and the characters aren't completely convincing. "The Drug King" is a fun film that has a lot of well-developed characters.

Directed by David Fincher, the film "The Drug Kings" follows the main character of the title as he becomes the regional leader of a doo-sam empire. While working for Doo-Sam, the wise and ambitious Sam sees the terrible effects of drugs on his family, girlfriend, and himself. In order to protect his family, Sam starts to run an underground railroad that brings him a variety of colorful and humorous characters along the way.

The film is almost entirely told from Holly's perspective with the exception of a brief moment in which Sam disappears into space at the conclusion. Sam finds himself in love with Holly immediately and spends the majority of the film trying to convince Holly to leave Doo-Sam to work for the Doo-Sam Empire. While she eventually leaves, she returns in the last part of the film as an ardent Doo-Sam agent. In the course of the film, she pleads with Sam for access to and more accurate information regarding the industry of doo-sam. She eventually accepts to help Sam find Korean-controlled marijuana shipments that are being held hostage by the Yakuza.


The film's distinctiveness is due to the way the characters interact with each other. The relationships between characters are often depicted with hilarious humor. In addition, the music is great. Most of the songs, particularly those with Korean lyrics, deal with the themes of love freedom, tragedy, and marijuana. Many songs focus on the drug kingpin Doo SAM and the song Kang-ho is the permission to spit rhymes at Kim Tae Hee.

Min-sik (a minor character) escapes from the drug factory in a sequence that's less amusing. Yomi is shocked to find out that he was guilty , and he apologizes. Yomi advises Min-sik to not return to the factory and Min-sik decides to will flee the premises. However, when he gets out of the factory, he sees an abundance of Yomi personnel waiting for him outside. When finally he arrives, Yomi asks him where he learned how to be an excellent friend.

This movie's humor is more about the comedy rather than the historical or drug trade aspects of Korean history. The two Korean characters have funny misunderstandings throughout the movie. Min-sik is trying to escape with Yomi to avoid having to work there, but Yomi's friend decides to help him out by divulging the information about the drug to the world. They also have many conflicts. Other minor characters also have hilarious conflicts with the main characters, like the Chinese girl who is attempting to give Lee Doo SAM a sample of her blood to enable him to create a special elixir that will render him inert to narcotics.

This movie is not intended for those who wish to master the art of history. It's a comedy spoof that is amusing and has a lot of entertaining moments, such as the transformation of the "drug lord" into a beautiful blonde woman. The film also features good songs, including the one that plays when Yomi injects Lee Doo Ssan with the blue vein. The Drug King is a fantastic film that showcases the unique culture of its locale. The story and the acting are excellent and the use music is a nice complement to the film.
