即便不是魯佈托的顧客也不會對這個品牌陌生，因為它太頻繁出現在媒體、影視和音樂作品中瞭。《紐約郵報》為緬懷歌後艾瑞莎·弗蘭克林使用的封面照片就是一個很好的例子：平靜離去的她穿著體面，腳上穿的也是魯佈托的設計。從Lady GaGa到貝嫂，在狗仔隊的曝光下，似乎每一個名人都在宣稱愛這個男人的設計。事實證明，魯佈托本人對國際名人圈的興趣明顯不足，但很樂意看到自己的鞋子跟流行文化產生關聯。
“這些昂貴的紅底高跟鞋。這些像被血染成的高跟鞋。”美國說唱歌手卡迪·B在她破紀錄的熱門單曲《博達克黃》（Bodak Yellow）中唱道。這張同名專輯在2017年6月上架後不久便成為大熱門，幫助卡迪·B成為Billboard百強單曲榜冠軍。卡迪·B在出席2017年BET大獎時，大大方方地亮出瞭自己的魯佈托的高跟鞋。當然，她不是第一個將魯佈托標志性的猩紅色鞋底寫成歌的人；從“侃爺”（Kanye West）到詹妮弗·洛佩茲都在音樂上對這雙鞋表示敬意。洛佩茲在2009年推出的《Louboutins》單曲更將紅底鞋描述成女性自由的象征。魯佈托將在時尚史中闊別已久的匕首根鞋帶回瞭潮流，同時矛盾也隨之而來。
光潔、尖銳又性感的匕首根有著大無畏的女性氣質。1948年，英國行業雜志《鞋靴》宣稱，“沉重、粗笨的鞋必將出局。”戰時的蕭條讓楔跟鞋無所不在，細高跟作為更優雅和現代的設計，喚醒瞭女人們沉睡良久的期望。鞋履制造商們開始討論怎樣才是最迎合腳踝的線條，且最好詮釋正欣欣向榮的女人味的復蘇。美國版《時尚》在50年代使用瞭“匕首根”一詞。它開始負擔起從女孩到女人的轉變儀式。事實上，它穿起來並不舒服。慢慢地，這種不實用的強勢現代鞋跟成為年輕女性公開對抗的標志，她們白天也像晚上一樣穿著性感的鞋來挑戰傳統角色。60年代中期，匕首根日薄西山，被適合無拘無束、男女皆宜的平底鞋代替。
