In comparison questions, write down the values explicitly in the final step and then compare. Try to make comparisons as explicit, clear, and obvious as possible (no skipping steps!). You can do this in verbal too. Whenever you see something like, for example, "least likely", make clear labels that make it easier to think about the answers.

If you don't get any insight into a problem within 30 seconds, move on to the next one after answering intuitively or randomly. Understand that this is not because you "skipped" it, you just need to get the easy points out of the way first, so don't feel that you are losing marks.

During practice, your anxiety stopped you from answering the exact same questions that you got right before without much effort, even some that you answered really intelligently to your own surprise. Remember this when a question appears foreign in the exam. Keep calm because your anxiety is probably clouding your logic. Don't let anxiety waste that mental energy.

Imagine that the trick in every question was designed specifically with you in mind. You MUST read the questions very carefully because failure to do so is the most common reason for making mistakes.

For every sentence, each word is instrumental; engage with each sentence by trying to work out what can be safely inferred from them.

If you find that things are getting confusing in a verbal question, re-read each word carefully, looking for a key word. Usually, you missed a single important word.

The test expects you to be smart and look for patterns instead of doing stuff the traditional way...but sometimes you spend too much time looking for patterns that don't exist and forget the traditional way itself. Don't be stupid.

Keep calm and maintain an emotional distance. Let your mind focus on the simple truths that you are dealing with. The only emotion that you can allow, and arguably should allow, is the mix of gratitude and exuberance that comes with understanding a bit more about what is in front of you.
