First Part:10 multiple choice
all the apparatus of the titration ( all of the parts used in the titration exp. pipette, burette, the retort stand, the flask, the beaker and so on
make sure to be able to do double displacement reactions
predicting the products
identify which is the precipitate, which is the liquid, and which is a gas
Know the differences between the properties of acids and bases (Know the strong acids and bases, and the weak acids and bases [list in textbook])
Make sure to know how to name acids (If its two elements exp. HCI is hydrochloric acid, and if it's an element and a compound exp. HCIO is Chloric Acid)
Like dissolves like (Make to know why)
Why does a dipole dissolve ionic, why does a polar dissolve a polar, and why does non-polar dissolve non-polar (remember the intermolecular forces, size of the molecule, and so on)
Need to know how to concentration, dilutions, and all the different types of equations
Know the difference between a conjugate acid and conjugate base (So you can identify them in the equation)
Remember terms- Saturated, Supersaturated, miscible, immiscible, and so on (make to know what they mean)
The second part of Test: Calculations (2 Questions)
Limiting Reagents, stochiometry, parts per million/billion, dilution, a simple this is the mass what is the concentration question (make sure to know how to do all of the different types of questions)
Make sure to know how to calculate the Ph(-Log)
figure out the hydrogen concentration (Could use stochiometry)
Third Part: Inquiry (3 Questions)
The same type of Calculations questions in part 2 of the test
Be able to write net ionic equations
Final Section: Application (2 Questions)
Given an equation, you have to give the conjugate acid and conjugate base, and what the acid and base is
Real-life example- make sure to remember the factors that affect dissolving (Impact that temperature has on the solubility of the states, the size, the types of intermolecular force, factors that impact the rate of dissolving: Agitation, temperature, type of intermolecular force and size of molecule) [Make sure to read through all to help answer the question]
