Advantages and Disadvantages of a Grease Gun

In contrast to electric cordless grease guns, the manual one works on the principle of pushing or pulling a plunger. You have to apply a little pressure and once it is started; the pressure increases until the plunger reaches its peak and then releases it. This application process needs to be done carefully because a small mistake could cause the blade to bend and damage the item being worked on. There are however no such safety concerns when using the electric tool as you do not require any extra power source.


These two types of tools have their pros and cons. Grease guns are much easier to use than pneumatic ones because you do not need to worry about air pressure or water flow. It also does not require any electricity for it to work. The only thing required is batteries and they are not too expensive. They require constant maintenance though because over working of the blade can make it rust. It is much quieter than the pneumatic kind and it does not make much noise at all.

The main disadvantage of using this tool is that the manual tool does not have any power tools feature. It does not have an attachment for rotating or positioning heavy objects so you cannot use it on moving parts like wheels or casters.
