Despite the consultation and preparation by animal control officers, in the end a glue trap captured a venomous zebra cobra on a north Raleigh porch, capping a 48-hour case involving North Carolina media.
To remove the glue fully from its body, the cobra was guided into a red bucket and moved to a safe location.
Earlier in the day, WRAL's cameras caught the snake crawling out of a siding onto a porch on Sandringham Drive. Lifting its head, its hood could be seen.
Before moving in to capture the snake, Animal Control officers moved camera crews to the back.
An early morning 911 call from that same home prompted the search.

N.C., Raleigh Following a 48-hour saga that garnered attention from across North Carolina, a venomous zebra cobra was captured with a glue trap on a north Raleigh porch Wednesday night, capping an unusual 48-hour saga that garnered national attention.
The cobra was guided into a red bucket and taken to a safe location so the glue could be completely removed.
An earlier image captured by WRAL show the snake scrabbling to the front porch of a house on Sandringham Drive, crawling through the siding. Looking around, its hood was visible as it lifted its head.
Camera crews were moved back after the officers confirmed it was the snake before attempting to catch it.
The search was sparked by a 911 call from the same home early Tuesday.

The ordeal is over at last, said neighbor Joan Nelson.
I feel a lot safer, said she. I feel extremely happy. Now that I can go outside, I can walk on my deck and go outside. Despite this, I feel sorry for the snake.

A zebra cobra can spit 9 feet long and is faster than most snakes, making morning dog walks extremely hazardous. African Snakebite Institute has described the snake as very dangerous. It is possible for the venom to cause a victim's nervous system to shut down.
Those stung by the poison would experience severe pain, swelling, rashes, nausea, and diarrhea as a result. Afterward, a fever and breathing problems would result, possibly resulting in respiratory failure.
An experienced veterinarian, Dr. Salina Locke, treats all kinds of pets at the Avian and Exotic Animal Care.
The cobra species in this group doesn't typically bite. The venom is more likely to spray because they are very accurate and go straight for the eye, she said.
Despite the risks associated with this snake, Locke does not recommend it as a pet.
Sleeping people are more likely to be bitten. Researchers found that bit individuals could suffer health issues for years to come.
During a search on Tuesday afternoon, police searched the home on 6917 Chamonix Place, near where the cobra was last seen.
Four police officers visited the home in March to investigate an animal problem. On Monday and Tuesday, they returned after spotting the zebra cobra on a porch about a half mile away.
There are county records showing that Keith and Rebecca Gifford live at that address. His Facebook account shows several pictures of snakes he claims are owned by his son, Christopher, according to the account.
The TikTok account of Christopher Gifford has over 460000 followers. In one of his posts, he claims to have a 7-foot-long zebra cobra. brisbane snake catcher
