First Monday Trade Days may be a well-known event in East Texas, but that doesn't stop hundreds of thousands of people from going to the city of Canton for 4 days every month. Open from Thursday through sunday, in advance of the First Monday every month hundreds of vendors have set up shop offering a wide range of shopping opportunities.
The park that began over a century ago as a flea market , has since become one of the coolest, cutting-edge furniture, antiques, and collectibles that can be purchased anywhere. Over the past 150 years, many things have changed in The Original First Monday Park; however, the genuine, intimate personal relationships between sellers and customers is the reason why people stay back.

According to the First Monday Trade Days website, it is the most prestigious and longest continually operating outdoor flea market across the United States.
According the folks in on the street, the idea in First Monday Trade Days started in the 1850's as the circuit judge would travel to Canton on the First Monday of every month. People from all across the county came into the city to observe their court proceedings. In the past, residents brought their own merchandise, whether it was livestock, food items, and other pieces from their past, to trade or sell. Then in 1965, First Monday outgrew the city's Town Square so it was moved to the present day site. And that was the end of it...
First Monday Trade Days is comprised of a wide range from private sellers. trade days canton are that no matter how many times you've visited, you'll never truly see all of it. The flea-market is situated on numerous acres, with over 700,00 square feet of space for shopping.
The event on First Monday is free, but the majority parking facilities surrounding the trade areas charge $5 for parking
