First Monday Trade Days may be a known event around East Texas, but that doesn't stop thousands of people from traveling to this city Canton to enjoy four days of the month. The trade days are open from Thursday to the Sunday until the beginning of the month on the First Monday every month, hundreds of vendors will set up shop for shoppers with hundreds of choices.

According people at the market, the idea for First Monday Trade Days started in the year 1850 when the circuit judge was able to be in Canton on the First Monday of every month. People from all over the county would visit the city for court cases. In the course of time, residents would bring their own goods, whether it was livestock, food items, or other unique items, to trade or sell. In the year 1965 First Monday outgrew the town's Town Square so it was moved to its current ground. The rest is history...
First Monday Trade Days is made up of a variety from private sellers. Chances are that no matter how many times you'll never see the entire market. This flea market is situated over hundreds of acres, offering more than 700,00 square feet of retail space.
Participating in First Monday is free, however, the majority parking lots surrounding the trade site charge $5 to park.
