First Monday Trade Days may be a well-known festival in East Texas, but that doesn't mean that it can't keep hundreds of thousands of people from traveling to the town of Canton for four days each month. Open from Thursday through on Sunday ahead of the First Tuesday of every month, hundreds of vendors have set up shop to offer shoppers a variety of options.
What started more than a century ago as the first flea market is now an ideal location for the most fascinating, modern-day home furnishings, antiques and collectibles to be found almost anywhere. Over canton trade days , lots of things have changed at this Original First Monday Park; however, the authentic, home-grown human interactions between vendors and buyers are the main reason people keep returning.

September 2nd - 5th
September 30th - October 3rd
October 28th - October 31st
December 2nd - 5th
According to The First Monday Trade Days website, it is one of the oldest and largest ever-running outdoor flea market throughout the United States.
According to folks around this market, concept is that First Monday Trade Days started in the 1850's as the circuit judge was able to be in Canton on the First Monday of every month. People from all over the county came to Canton to participate in their court matters. In the course of time, residents would bring the items they had brought, whether it be produce, livestock or other original items to trade or sell. In 1965, First Monday outgrew the city's Town Square so it was moved to the present day location. And that was the end of it...
First Monday Trade Days is made up of a variety of private sellers . As such, chances are, regardless of how many times you've visited, you'll never truly see all. The flea market sits in a large area that covers over 700,00 square foot of shopping.
Participating in First Monday is free, however, the majority parking lots that surround the trade grounds charge $5 for parking
