The Art Of International Style
The International Style is a popular architectural style that developed in the 1930s and 1940s and was heavily influenced by classical architecture and modernism. Many artistic and stylistic movements in Europe at the time contributed to the development of the International Style. Styles like Art Deco, Fauvism, Bauhaus, Art Nouveau, Viennese and Neoclassicism were influential in the development of International Style architecture. This style can be found in cities such as Florence, Turin, Barcelona, Havana, Chicago, Prague, London, Cape Town, Florence, Leipsic, Cologne, Rome, Vienna, Bratislava, Clujarno, Barcelona, Tokyo, Saint Petersburg, Seoul, Hong Kong, Taipei, Beijing and many more. Many examples of International Style urban architecture include skyscrapers, flat roofs and roofs that cantilever.

In International Style architecture there is no single style that is uniform. There are many styles and colors that are stylistically comparable, but have been created independently. The British style is a prime example. It is heavily influenced by Victorian styles and art Deco. It features large windows, rounded shapes and the use dark materials. On the other hand, there is the German style, which are inspired by Neoclassicism and the architecture of ancient Greece and Rome and the Romanticist architecture of the French movement, and the expressionist art style of Cubists. International Style examples can also be found in the works of Ray Eames and Frank Lloyd Wright, two famous international architects as well as Henry Feng Shui, a modernist architect.

The International Style was a major influence in the development modern architecture. It is evident in a wide range of modern structures, particularly modern ones.
