My life is a journey that I have to face alone.
I close a door behind me and open one I’ve never known.
Somehow each step I take on this uncertain path,
Moves towards a time that drifts into the past.

I know the hardest times of all are easier to bear
When I share my love with those I know who show they really care.
Whether my dreams will succeed or whether they will fail
I won’t know till they happen. Till then I’ll plan and wait.

Sometimes a level playing field is stretched out on the road.
Though, stones are thrown my way to burden with a heavy load.

Life isn’t always on my side. I have to duck and dive
To find a way to solve and fix the issues that would take my life.
But when despair just hunts me down I know it won’t be long
Before my life can breathe again and make me feel like I belong.

A generation comes and goes and passes on through time.
We have but just a moment to make a mark then leave behind
The memories that we made and shared and lost along the way
Leaving to the next in line to face each brand new day.

Many different paths to take, don’t know which way to go
All that I want, all I can have, the road that’s clear I may never know
I’ll look out for life’s chances and swallow painful pride
