dec/1/1955 rosa parks was riding the bus home after a long day of work in montgomrey,alabama. as the bus became more crowded the bus driver ordered mrs pars to give up her seat to a white passenger. she bravely refused to giving up her seat and was arrested for violating the cities racial segrgration laws. the evening of mrs.parks arrest edgar .d nixon and the ot colerd people {naacp} chapter began to organize a citywide bus boyycot. they disrubuted handbills and placed newspaper ads encouraged African amaricans to swow support mrs parks by not useing buses on the day of her court trial. Dr.martin luther king, jr. joined the effort and was elected to lead the montgomry improvment association (mia). The montgomrey bus boyycot was so successful and contenued for 13 months and drew international attention.
