Why Purchase Or Rent Email Lists?
Many Internet marketers struggle with the question of whether or not to rent email lists. If you're an Internet marketer (or if anyone else wants to become an Internet marketer), the answer to that question is most likely right in front of you. However, there are a number of things that you need to think about before deciding to rent email lists, and we're going to go over those below.

So, just what are the reasons that marketers rent email lists? In a word, the answer to that question is: lots. A large number of email marketing experts rent email lists on a regular basis, to license their own lists to various email marketing firms, in return for a monthly fee. This way, the marketing firm that is renting the list gets to keep all of the profits from each sale, rather than the person or company who initially bought the list.

When you rent email lists, you can be sure that the emails you're sending out to your subscribers have been complied with all of the necessary legal requirements, and that they have met any other applicable requirements. For example, when you buy email addresses from a database, you generally need the person to give you consent to contact them and to send commercial messages in the future. You also need to ensure that the person actually has an interest in receiving more commercial advertising. So, unless you want to be in violation of United States laws, or other relevant laws around the world, it's best to rent email lists from databases that have good track records.

If the person on the other end of the emails doesn't want to receive more commercial advertising, you have gone to great lengths to give them the option of opting out of any further emails from you. In many cases, this is done by providing them with a form, which they will usually fill out very carefully but will fail to respond or to opt-out out of. Lead databases are available for purchase, but again, you will likely have to make a significant investment in maintaining it. Lead databases take a relatively long time to build, and once you have built a strong list with some high quality leads, it can take years to recoup your costs.

So, to summarize, if you are interested in either direct marketing through email lists or in lead generation, then by far the best strategy is to build your own lists from scratch. There are several great lists out there that are already built by Internet marketers. Do a Google search for these lists and see what they are selling for. It's a lot less expensive than purchasing lists from other sources and it'll give you the results you're looking for.
